ASF’s second Vox Libera Salon – “‘Boys & Men in the Modern World’” – was held earlier this month, on May 16th, in Sydney. It was a fantastic night with excellent company, conversation, and food. In conversation with Jason Strecker, David Maywald discussed a broad range of topics from education, work, relationships and faith to economic independence, fatherhood and general wellbeing of men and boys. Thank you to everyone who attended to make the evening special, and many thanks to Jason and Kelie Strecker for organising another thrilling night, and to our venue host for opening her home for the event. We are also excited to confirm that our 2026 ASF Progress Through Science and Freedom Conference will be held at the Perth Town Hall on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November 2026. After a few years of fantastic ASF conferences in Sydney and Melbourne, we felt it was time to give Western Australia some love. This year’s conference will build on the momentum started by the book launch of Secession by Western Australia on 13th March 2026, which focuses on much of what ASF desires to do: namely, to design better social, economic, and political systems for Australia. If WA were to secede, its renewal could catalyse renewal for the other states and territories too. Mark your calendar for our 2026 conference, and watch this space for more details in the coming months!
Our next ASF Members’ Forum on June 9 starting at 7:30pm will feature Sall Grover who will talk about her ongoing legal fight for common sense and protection of women-only spaces, following the Federal Court of Appeal’s disappointing judgement handed down on 15 May.
